With a short guest list the whole day slows down, and that is when the honest photographs happen. Nobody is performing. Valley light is the other thing: the escarpment throws long shadows early, so late afternoon here is short but spectacular. Festoon lighting over the pool gives a genuinely nice warm evening frame without needing anything set up.
